May 7, 2026 at 11:03 amMy maternal grandfather died. He was survived by his wife, one son, and one daughter (my mother). After his death, my mother did not receive any share in the family property. The house which was originally in the name of my maternal great-grandmother, was transferred entirely to my maternal uncle through a gift deed around 20 years ago.
My grandmother’s jewellery was stolen by my uncle. She is currently living with us and is distressed over the loss of her jewelry and exclusion from the property matters.
After throwing my grandmother out my uncle has already sold the house .
We seek legal advice regarding my motherโs right to an equal share in the property and possible remedies concerning my grandmotherโs jewelry.

May 7, 2026 at 11:23 amSince the house is already sold out, and no proof of jewellery stolen, I think you cannot do much in this case . -

May 7, 2026 at 11:52 amUnfortunately if a gift deed was done then the property belongs to your uncle. And without a fir or anything regarding the stolen jewellery it would not be worth it to pursue legal action.
