My grandfather built two houses next to each other, one for each of his two sons (my father and my uncle). The house my uncle lives in is in his name because he was of age when it was built. However, the house I live in is still in my grandmother’s name, not my father’s. My uncle has already received his share, and I want to ensure that the house I live in (currently in my grandmother’s name) comes to me after her passing, without any disputes or claims from others. What legal steps should I take to secure my rights to this property?”

Contact a lawyer. Get a living will created and registered.

If possible try to transfer property in your name. Execute a sale deed.

Not a sale deed, you should go for a gift deed, it will cost you much less. Or opt for a will.

Get a registered gift deed to avoid potential complications during probate and disputes relating to a will. By using a gift deed, the property will be transferred to you immediately upon registration, eliminating the need for probate and ensuring a smoother process.
