LSo, it started when a met a person on tele who pretended to be girl. That person gave me his number and we started to chat on WhatsApp. There was a girl with him too. Then they did the video call and girl was on the screen and flash in front of me. Then they cut the call after a while we again do video call and the girl showed her upper body. Then they texted me to show my penis and i showed it. They were recording my video. Then they voice call me and a guy was speaking and i said your voice is not audible. Then he texted me and threatened me to pay him the amount and he got my friends on Instagram and he asked for my insta account. Now he’s threatening me to pay him the amount or else he will send it to everyone on my Instagram. I threaten him I will fill a complain on cyber crime. I don’t know what to do now. Someone please help me. Should i fill a complaint on cyber crime.

If you give them money, they’ll just ask for more.
The best thing you can do is tell them you’re arranging the money, while gathering the evidence.
Go to a police station in person and file a complaint against cybercrime.
This is the best you can do.

UIt happened with one of my friends, he paid them once 5k then again they were demanding, paid them in total about 20k so at the end he went to police as he had some connections there .

SI don’t understand why doesn’t WhatsApp have a screen recording prevention right now. I mean if they can implement a screenshot prevention on the one time photos/videos, why can’t they do it to the video calls in general/ provide with an option to enable screenshot/screen recording prevention in WhatsApp settings?

Tjust block and ignore, sextortion scammers are heinous beings who care about the responses and fear they awaken in you. if you don’t care and just move on, chances are, they’ll not do anything either.
keep contacts with your local cyber police and let some trusted friends know, so that they can help you and let you know if the scammers end up leaking. And, by a rule of thumb, don’t cave in for online vcs, even if you’re a guy. there’s a lot of scams in the straight side of online sex

WHere’s my solution to this:
This happened with me where someone video called and I received. But the video was blank in the call. I was trying to find out who, cuz my friends usually prank me with new numbers.. later I get a video of myself a cropped video of similar situation and I panicked. What the hell. Later threatening continues, I told do what u want. Send it to my my wife, friends, family. Nothing happened as I had a reasonable explanation that this happened and they’re trying to threaten and it’s pretty common these days. Don’t fall for it. I just blocked him and he continued to msg from diff numbers. Here’s what I did later. Deactivated all social media. And changed whatsapp number. If changing is not a solution. Then blocking is. Just keep blocking and don’t respond.

UI had a friend whose was leaked almost in whole city , last year with face , he was unknown for 4 months , when he knew , he gave o shit about that , so be normal , even it got out, friends are understanding , but please dont let it affect your mental health ,perspective , and how you look at yourself , everyone forgets these things , my that friend later he overthink and got affected mentally , now he is back to his normal life
