UI recently changed my name officially (not just the spelling but the entire name) and now need to update it on my Aadhaar card. If anyone has gone through a similar process, could you share how long it takes and where exactly I need to go? I’m based in Bangalore, so any specific guidance would be really helpful.

UI also wanted to update my name, but it’s more of a spelling mistake than updating the entire name itself. I went to 2 Aadhaar Kendra places near my house and both told me that I need to go to a post office where they can update the name. They cannot do it apparently in the Aadhaar Kendra and neither can you do it online.
They say India is a very advanced country and all that but it’s a shame that for every small change, we have to get it done offline.

UFYI, just went to my nearest post office and they updated my name for me. I live in Mumbai and updating name is not done at the Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

Uhey how long did it take for the name spelling mistake to be corrected?
i went to correct my spelling mistake today and they said it would take 7-15 days

UI received an SMS stating it was done the very next day. Applied for a new PVC card online then and that took a good 2 weeks to get delivered.
