Need a lawyer to file stalking and harassment, North Mumbai

Hi community, I am writing to get the attention of lawyers who might be based out of North Mumbai who can help me end the mental torture caused by one man for the last two years. He has been stalking me, harassing me and even managed to unblock his number and call me despite me trying everything from pleading and threatening. I disabled my bank account for a few months because he was putting money in it just so that I would talk to him. I have changed my residence but he finds it. There is more and I will discuss the same in detail.

In FIR, the state prosecutes. You can always hire a lawyer and file a restraining order, but if you haven’t yet complained to the police, do so. I have experience with Bangur Nagar cyber cell, and they’re incredibly cooperative.

Legal Steps You Can Take in Mumbai, File a Police Complaint (FIR)

Go to the nearest police station and file an FIR under Section 354D (stalking) and Section 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

If the harassment includes online threats, Section 66A & 67 of the IT Act may also apply.

Obtain a Restraining Order

Approach a lawyer who can help you file for a restraining order (injunction) in a civil court to legally prevent the stalker from contacting or approaching you.

Seek Help from a Women’s Cell

You can report the matter to Mumbai Police’s Women’s Cell or NCW (National Commission for Women) for additional legal support.

Cyber Crime Complaint (if digital harassment is involved)

File a complaint at Mumbai Cyber Cell (Crawford Market) if the harassment is happening through calls, messages, or online.
