April 21, 2025 at 7:47 amSo my father have a business a person during the lockdown time needed to pay back my father as payment for work done
So during that time he gave cheques for it
But the cheque bounced during that time
And then after that we filed a court case but now the person had changed his office and maybe even the home
The court issues the notice but it’s not getting delivered
The court keeps on asking for that persons present address but we do not have itSo anyone please advise what we can do in this matter
Like anyway possible to find address of a person we just have his pan card and GST number details only
Can we find address through mobile number?

April 21, 2025 at 11:38 amFile an Application: Submit a written application to the court handling the case, explaining that the notice is not being delivered due to the debtorโs changed address. Request the court to issue a notice through alternative means
Publication in a Newspaper: Courts can order public notice in a widely circulated newspaper in the debtorโs last known area. This is a legally accepted method when the defendantโs address is unknown.
Substituted Service: Request the court to allow service through other means (e.g., email, if available, or affixing the notice at the debtorโs last known address).
Provide Available Details: Share the PAN card and GST number details with the court. These can help the court or authorities trace the individual or business.
Hope it helps-

April 22, 2025 at 12:53 pmLawyer here. Substituted service only works in cases of civil nature. If youve filed a case under section 138 of NI Act, this cant work.
