Need advice for Passport renewal

I want to renew my father’s passport. He was <50 when the passport was issued and now he is 50+. The Passport document advisor says you need to show the Birth Certificate, which isn’t there with us nor does he have a marksheet. What should I do? Will Aadhaar/PAN Card work? Or is it okay to have an ECR Passport?

I’m not sure, I was 9 back then but it was an ECR passport so you don’t need any marksheet for that

Just call their helpline and ask. They are well informed of all the stuff and helpful to the callers.

I guess for him School Leaving certificate should work.
Get it made from some village school. I did this for my FIL and some Gandhiji to constable.
