March 30, 2025 at 10:03 amHello,I work at a start up in Noida. They declared 31st March as a holiday in lieu of Eid. But then a couple of days ago, they called it off and made it a working day. They as it is don’t give us enough leaves and the ones we do get as per the holiday calendar, it ends being called off at the last minute.
It’s not ethical. But is it legal? Aren’t there some labour laws protecting the rights of employees?

March 30, 2025 at 1:26 pmIf they canceled it a few days ago, why are you only bringing it up now? The holiday is tomorrow, and even if there were a legal remedy, you wouldn’t have enough time to pursue it. The best thing you can do at this point is to reach out to other employees who are unhappy with the management’s decision and collectively decide not to go to the office tomorrow as a sign of protest.-

OP
March 30, 2025 at 7:26 pmCalling off a leave is somewhat a pattern at this point. It’s not like they are gonna stop at this. No one is willing to protest at the moment because our appraisal cycle is near. I’m asking this because I wanna be prepared for the next time.
