UHi all!
So I am stuck in a situation where I was a friend of someone in the office and when I stopped talking with her…she raised a POSH complaint against me.
I made a comment on her where I was giving her a taunt which stated *Bdia lagri thi aaj. Couldn’t take my eyes off you. Par tu toh ab eye contact bi ni krti*.
This was on whatsapp.
The panel has conducted the enquiry and I am now awaiting the MOM.
Am I screwed by this? I made it clear to the committee that it wasn’t my intent and she made the complaint look malicious.

UI showed them the chat. But the only thing she has on me is the comment I made. Whats the worse that can happen in this and how can I appeal if things are worse?

EPosh doesn’t/wont act on a single comment. Screenshot all your chats incase she deletes the chats. Tell them it was a insitu tongue and cheek comment and as far as you are concerned there is nothing more or less to it. You are amazed that this has gone to Posh committee.
Ask them what you need to do to rectify the situation because You didn’t think this could be comprehended this way.
Your tone is the key here. So work on your tone before you are called up.

UI did all this before the committe already. If in case it doesnt go in my favor whats the worst that can happen and how do I appeal it?

EDepends on how grounded your POSH committee is and frankly your contribution on job wise matter too

UIt doesn’t add up what you are saying . If you were the one who stopped talking with her why are you ruing to her that she doesn’t even do eye contact?

UThat was before we stopped talking. After all that I said all the best and stopped talking. She did the complaint after 10 to 14 days after I made the comment.

UTLDR is that she was being racist and discriminatory against someone from the same batch and that someone raised a complaint against her with the HR. I didnt support her and instead went against her since she was wrong for doing that. I thought I could still be atleast colleagues but since she didnt respond when I asked her if we can talk…I stopped too.

UThat is one way of trying to be friends with her by saying something so inappropriate after going against her . It should be no surprise she complained against you since she already doesn’t seem to be someone of high ethical standards

LIf friendly banter has taken place before keep it’s recird. One comment alone wont get you fired but they might just warn you. Friends or not pls watch what u send in writing to colleagues or how u talk . I t can be very easily used against you if the so called friendship went south .
