Hey, 23f here!!! applied for a driving license through a driving school in Gurgaon They initially asked for ₹5000, which I paid. I didn’t take any driving classes since I already know how to drive—l just wanted the license.
Now, after applying again, they are asking for another ₹5000, which doesn’t seem right. I know the actual process doesn’t cost this much. They know that i am new to the place and cant figure this my own! I have my Learner’s License (LL) with me, which was given by them.but it expires on March 15th, so I need to sort this out ASAP.
I plan to go to Mini Secretariat, Gurgaon, to handle it myself, but I want to be prepared. Are there any advocates or legal experts here who can guide me on what to do? Any tips or experiences would be really helpful! also if anyone can help me on this, please reach out!

That driving school is straight-up scamming you. The actual cost of a driving license in Haryana is like ₹700-₹1,000, not ₹10,000. You already paid ₹5,000, which is way more than necessary, and now they want another ₹5,000? Absolute BS.

Since you already have your Learner’s License (LL), just go straight to the Mini Secretariat (RTO) in Gurgaon and handle it yourself. Bring your LL, ID, address proof, and any receipts from those scammers. Your LL expires on March 15, so book the test ASAP. You can also do it online at Parivahan. It’s super easy—fill out the form, upload docs, pay the small official fee, and book your test.

If the driving school gives you crap, remind them you know the actual process and fees. If they still don’t cooperate, report them to the RTO or even file a consumer complaint. These guys love scamming newcomers, so don’t let them play you. Go get your license the right way!
