Need help as an foreigner trying to register his marriage

Hello guys! Im a German and I’m married to an Indian. We had to register our marriage and the lawyer who helped us took 14k for the registration. Now the marriage registration certificate had my wrong details, and the lawyer is requesting another 10k to correct it and 4K „he will pay out of his pocket“ I feel like I’m getting scammed right and left. Does it rly cost that much? Do I have even pay for it if it wasn’t my mistake?

Question: why do u want to register your marriage in india and not in germany?

Got forced by the German embassy to do it. So my wife can get her visa

Oh in that case my answer won’t be helpful as I got married to my spouse in another country and the process is different comparatively.

Your wife’s side a local man can help you. There is bribe to pay in court.
