May 6, 2026 at 3:50 pmβI recently interviewed for a Work From Home Software Developer role at a newly formed service-based company. After the rounds were cleared, they sent an offer letter and asked me to sign a 1-year service bond with a βΉ50,000 penalty if I leave early. No blank cheque or Demand Draft was taken, so I signed it, thinking the remote setup was a great opportunity. However, during the online onboarding meeting, things took a suspicious turn.βThe HR team revealed new conditions that weren’t in the offer letter: they claimed my laptop, salary, and benefits would only start after I passed a “client interview.” To even get to that interview, they are forcing me to buy a specific βΉ30,000 course from a very obscure, newly built website. They explicitly refused to let me take the course from a recognized platform like Udemy or Coursera, insisting I use their vendor. They claimed the money would be refunded if I passed the client interview, but no refund if I failed.
Also when some of my fellow collegues asked for company office address they told us to clear the client interview then they will give us address.
Company is pvt limited and i have director CIN number and there reg. address ( address on which company is registered) and some of there things but not solid proof to pay that 30,000.
They have not payed me any salary or benfits ( they will start after client interview).
βI immediately sensed these red flags and have since stopped attending their meetings or performing any tasks. I haven’t paid them anything yet, but I am worried about the legal implications of the 1-year bond I already signed. Can this agreement still be enforced against me?
Iβd appreciate any advice from legal professionals or anyone who has dealt with this kinda thing.
But please if you are lawer then please reply.

May 6, 2026 at 3:55 pmhi advocate this side,This has many red flags and looks suspicious. Do not pay the βΉ30,000. Since no salary, training, or benefit was provided, bond enforcement becomes weak. changing conditions after offer letter also weakens their case. Keep all emails, recordings, and documents safe.
You can send a legal notice if they threaten you later. For now, stop communication and avoid sharing more documents or money. feel free to message me if you need help
