March 17, 2025 at 8:58 amI am 27, working in Jaipur, India at a finance institution. I have been with this company for 2 years, and now theyβve decided to wrap up our team and let go of all employees in this specific niche.My designated manager informed me about this only 9 days before the month ended. When I spoke with the so-called HR, I explained that 9 days is not enough time to find a new job. Since my offer letter did not mention a specific notice period, I believe, according to employment law, I should receive 30β60 days of additional compensation. I even offered to work through the notice period if the company prefers not to pay.
Note: They didn’t raise my annual salary during appraisal time too, not even the minimum criteria, stating quality issues with my work.
The hiring manager, as expected, denied my request and sarcastically said that I should already know this from my past experience. I replied that I do know, and thatβs why Iβm citing employment law. Instead of giving proper notice, the hiring manager rudely dismissed the idea of any such law.
I could let this go, but I canβt stand by without fighting for my basic rights. I urgently need a lawyer in Jaipur who can build a strong case or advise me on my options. I really need legal help.
