I received an offer letter on 29th and want to quit on 30th. Told them i got a better offer elsewhere and now they’re asking for proof.

“we need proof of the email of the documentation of your offer being accepted”

im confused.

Your current employer is asking for the proof? Whyyy
Just resign and serve your notice period and leave.
No need to send any proof.

Take a snapshot and send without revealing where you are joining.

It’s might be unfair or unreasonable but priority is you getting your Exit Documentation and F&F.

One theory is they wanna retain you and wanna know how much offer you have got, so that they can give a counter-offer.

Lawyer here. Legally, you don’t need to show any proof or even inform the current employer of your reason for resignation.

Submit your resignation, serve the notice period and collect your relieving documents.
