February 15, 2025 at 11:14 amI was previously employed with a public sector bank and had signed a bond of โน2.5 lakhs for a service period of two years. However, I left the organization after five months to join a central government body.As per the DoPT office memorandumNo.DOPT-1670563492572, if an employee moves from a PSU/Govt/State Govt job to another PSU/Central Govt/State Govt body, they are not required to pay the bond amount but can instead transfer the bond obligation to the new employer for the remaining period.
Despite this, the bank denied my bond transfer request and insisted on full payment for my relieving. I was compelled to pay the amount to obtain my relieving letter.
I seek legal advice on the following:
1. Do I have grounds to challenge this decision legally?
2. What legal recourse is available to recover the bond amount?
Regards
