March 15, 2025 at 4:50 amHi everyone, I need urgent legal advice regarding my fatherβs accident at a construction site.### **What Happened**
– My father, a construction worker, **fell from the second floor** on **February 18, 2025**.
– He suffered a **pelvis fracture and a head injury**.
– He had **pelvic surgery on February 19** and was **discharged on February 25**. He is now recovering at home.### **Issue with Filing an FIR**
– Since we live in a **village with no strong support system**, some **influential people** advised us **not to file an FIR** and instead settle for compensation from the **builder and homeowner**.
– We trusted them and did not proceed with the case, but now the **builder and homeowner have stopped responding**.
– We have already **spent a lot of money on medicine and care**, and my father is still on **bed rest for over a month**.### **Legal Questions**
1. **Can we still file an FIR after 25+ days?**
2. At the time of admission, the case was registered as an **MLC (Medico-Legal Case)**, but we **never gave an official statement**. The police only called once, and I sent them pictures. Can we still take legal action?
3. What steps should we take to ensure my father gets compensation or justice?Would really appreciate any **legal insights, personal experiences, or suggestions** on how to move forward. Thank you!

March 15, 2025 at 5:34 amYes, you can still file an FIR.Visit the concerned police station and apprise them of the situation. Request them to help you out. If you are lucky, it may happen without any delay but if police is hand in gloves with builder then approach the SP/DCP.
