I am working in a company since 10 years and yes am being too loyal for this company. But recent months my wages has been cut by 40% and told that company was bearing losses. But as of today I knew that the only my salary has been cut and others are getting their normal salaries and raises also. My boss is also telling that he has purchased a 80lakhs system for ai. So what should I do? Forward legally or what?

I am in a drastic downfall in my life so finding another job now is not possible but yes am try and to find a new job.

Take the conversation up with the HR, cite your performance conversations, appraisal notes and ask why has the salary been reduced.

Parallelly, start interviewing for a new job elsewhere.

As our office is so mismanaged we donโ€™t even have HR department, I havenโ€™t signed anything for the reduction.

                  What is your job role?

Regardless, why are you at such a company for 10+ years? Please leave.

My emotional part is stopping me from doing this, also the termination after i file against the company.

Lawyer here, this is unfair trade practice and employers are not allowed to do this by law. You can seek written clarification and approach labour commissioner.

Lawyer here. This situation may potentially amount to unfair labour practice, discriminatory treatment, or breach of employment terms depending upon your role, designation, and contractual structure. An employer cannot ordinarily impose arbitrary wage reductions selectively and indefinitely without lawful justification or employee consent, especially after long years of continuous service. A formal written representation seeking clarification on the basis, duration, and legality of the reduction should ideally be sent to HR or management first. Depending on the response and your employment category, remedies may include approaching the labour authorities, issuing a legal notice, or pursuing claims relating to unpaid wages and discriminatory treatment.
