April 11, 2025 at 1:31 pmI’m feeling extremely weak and helpless right now. I live in Delhi, near Patel Nagar, with no support system — no parents, no relatives. I’m the only breadwinner for my family. We all know how tough it is to get legal justice once you step into a police station in India.
**On December 28**, a man entered our residential colony claiming to be an official, and without proper notice or paperwork, he towed away our **1975 Royal Enfield — my late father’s last memory**. He passed away 3 years ago, and this bike was something our family held very close to our hearts.
The man gave me a small slip with a scrap company’s name and told me to contact them after 3 days. When I did, they **confirmed the pickup** and said they’d transfer the scrap amount to my bank account.
But since then, both the company and the man have started ignoring me. No replies. No calls. Nothing.
This wasn’t just a vehicle. It was a sentimental treasure for us. The way they took it — ruthlessly — made my whole family cry. We believed them when they said they were government-authorized.
Now, I feel cheated, looted, and emotionally devastated.
I have **evidence — chats, details of the recovery agent, and the scrap company**. I want to file a case for theft of property. I want to take action. These people are scamming innocent residents across Delhi and earning lakhs illegally.
I’m reaching out to this community — if any lawyer or legal professional in Delhi can help me or guide me, please come forward.
Even help with negotiation or legal notices would be a big step for me and my family.
Please DM or comment if you can help or connect me to someone who can.
I want to **File theft FIR against recovery agent. I want him to got taste of what he did to my family. And negotiate on monetary terms.**
Thank you.

April 11, 2025 at 1:38 pmAn old vehicle is only illegal if it is running on the road right? Else it is an antique. How can they take it away??? I feel you should fight it out. -

April 11, 2025 at 1:48 pmOld bikes get sold for lot of money, Most likely it’s stolen to be sold file a FIR , nobody can enter and take a bike or old vehicle, this is Robbbery, file a complaint get your bike back. If they refuse take police and go to their scrap yard to check. -

April 11, 2025 at 2:06 pmMan these goons have no shame. They did same with Tehsin Poonawala. Entered gated society, broke his car glass and towed his old car-

April 11, 2025 at 2:15 pmNo one can just scrap your vehicle. An authorization letter is needed from the owner of the vehicle. As suggested by others yours might be stolen. -

April 11, 2025 at 3:02 pmIf you’re in Delhi, there is a High court order that you can get the old vehicle released on giving undertaking that it will not be used on public roads and will not be parked on public roads.Do this ASAP as if it is scrapped then you won’t be able to do anything.
You can explore legal steps against the agency later, first secure the motorcycle.
Edit to add: this might end up not getting scrapped at all, rather the agency would likely sell it (illegally) considering the vintage

April 11, 2025 at 3:10 pmHello, login to mprivahan website using bikes number. Then check any challan or change in RC status. Once a vehicle is handed over to the recycler, RC status changes automatically in the system. If not, file FIR for theft.-

April 12, 2025 at 4:28 pmLet me share steps I follow to be double sure. Use this portal:
https://vscrap.parivahan.gov.in/vehiclescrap/vahan/welcome.xhtml– Click on Services -> Scrap your vehicle
Here you vehicle details and scrapping company details should auto populate.
Again, if it doesn’t show here that means your vehicle is not actually submitted for scrapping.

April 12, 2025 at 4:59 amYou need to file an FIR as he had no authority or permission. Scrap dealers (even authorised) are not cops and are not an official
