Need settlement advice for threats

A friend of mine did some fraud 3 years ago and looted a man. That person got to know today. He is threatening me because I knew it and I didn’t do anything at that time to stop it. So he demanded money, my friend gave it. Now he is asking me as well. I want to give it and settle this case as I know the background of this person he can literally do anything.
All I need to know how can I do the settlement such that it get recorded is some manner so that he cannot demand it again. Please help me, there is no FIR or police complaint

Can I do any sort of settlement in police station or is there any other way to do it?

Not your problem. Not recommended for you to settle no matter how hard the situation is.

Go to your local police station and report. If they dont take it seriously escalate to commissioner level in writing..next step go to court and plead for restraining order using an advocate.

Talk to a criminal lawyer first and then block that person. You yourself did not defraud him so he cannot do anything to you.
