I got a message from a stock market course person and I assumed that it’s coming via a bot and I just woke up sent a message to stop and some name without much thinking.

That guy called and threatened to file an FIR if I don’t reply sorry to that.

What are my options here, can replying be used against me.

Even if he’s serious. You didn’t abuse him in a public place, one curse does not equal criminal intimidation, he’s not a woman whose modesty is outraged, he’s not a colleague in your workplace, not your relative for it to be a domestic violence case.

At worst, person might cite IPC 504 (intentional insult) or 506 (criminal intimidation), but FIRs for such minor things are rare. You can ignore and block, or just say, “Sorry, didn’t mean anything by it” to diffuse it and move on.

If he causes a nuisance, file a complaint on Sanchaar sathi against his number for spam calls.
