March 16, 2025 at 3:46 pmHi everyone,I’m posting this on behalf of a close friend who is going through a lot lately. He (24M) is a student currently in a PG, and he was in a relationship with a girl (22F) for some time.
A few weeks ago, they had sex with mutual consent, using protection (condoms). However, even before this, my friend noticed that she started ignoring him and wasn’t talking nicely to him, so they decided to meet. After this, things started getting worse—she kept ignoring him, claiming she was busy, and seemed to be giving more attention to other guys while barely acknowledging him.
Frustrated and hurt after multiple attempts to communicate, my friend decided to cut ties with her. But now, out of nowhere, because my friend broke up after multiple attempts to try and talk, she is accusing him of sexual assault, saying that she “didn’t give consent” at that time (despite everything being consensual). On top of this, she is also claiming that she is pregnant because of him, even though they used protection.
She took some tests which apparently and then is saying that tests showed that she is pregnant later she said it showed she is not, but she keeps saying she isn’t sure and is now demanding more money from my friend for additional tests. He is a student, and he doesn’t have the financial means to keep giving her money. He is also extremely scared because she has been threatening him with legal action and ruining his reputation. He does not want his parents to find out, as this could affect both of their careers.
He is completely innocent and has done nothing wrong, but she is trying to manipulate and trap him. He is scared, confused, and doesn’t know what legal steps to take to protect himself.
What should he do? Should he approach the police preemptively? What legal protections does he have in case she files a false case? Any guidance would be really helpful.
Thanks in advance.
