Hello. Long story short. I got married in oct 2022. Lived in Chennai due to job. Wife was living in Delhi. Lots of ups and downs in the marriage. False blames on me and when not proven correct, then just excuses to not to live with me. Now no communication woth wife since August 2024. Parents also stopped communication from November 2024. What to do now? Needed legal help. How to protect myself and my family in case things go bad or she files cases for Money. If any lawyer. Please DM me. I am not able to send message invites on reddit due to some error.
Ps. I got married in Delhi. And i am from Delhi. Wife is also in Delhi. Looking for a lawyer in Delhi.

I might be wrong. But, it would be good if you file your case in Chennai. Where you’re staying.

In this case OP is from Delhi and also the wife is living in Delhi. It seems as if OP wants to get over with all legal proceedings and for that to happen you would want the proceedings to take place effectively.

Now consider the case if OP initiates legal action in Chennai, the wife can either choose to ignore the court notice from Chennai or can we even file for a transfer petition before the Supreme Court. The time and effort spent in initiating the legal process in Chennai does not seem to be the most judicious

As the OP is currently in Chennai. And, OP needs to travel to Delhi? How effective this would be?

Would still be more effective than things not moving at all if the court notices and summons are being ignored by the wife or if the transfer petition is filed in Supreme Court

Transfer petition is filed in supreme court only for issues in matrimony? Or it can be filed in district courts also?

Transfer Petition is filed in the lowest court which has territorial jurisdiction over the court where the legal action is being taken and the court where the legal action is sought to be transferred to.

In this case the only court which has common jurisdiction between Delhi and Chennai is the Supreme Court

Start communicating and recording all the calls, whatsapp chat, communicate tactfully covering her behaviour,e.g. Why are you staying away ,it’s been 1.5 years,we never behaved wrongly with you etc etc, once you have collected enough evidence that you are not at fault, meet a divorce lawyer and serve a notice

                                  1. Try communicating with her through email, keep your language pleasing, non-judgmental, no accusing her of anything and not being overly emotional, asking her for the reasons to leave your company. Remember this communication can be used as evidence in the court.

                                  2. If you want her to come back and mend ways, you can file Restitution of Conjugal Rights case where you are asking her to get back to your company. [https://divorcebylaw.com/restitution-of-conjugal-rights/](https://divorcebylaw.com/restitution-of-conjugal-rights/)

                                  3. If you do not want to live with her, you can ask her to agree for Mutual Consent Divorce [https://divorcebylaw.com/mutual-divorce-lawyer-in-bengaluru/](https://divorcebylaw.com/mutual-divorce-lawyer-in-bengaluru/)

                                  4. If that is not working, you can go for a Contested Divorce [https://divorcebylaw.com/best-contested-divorce-lawyers-in-bangalore/](https://divorcebylaw.com/best-contested-divorce-lawyers-in-bangalore/)
