Paid double on a bill

Hello everyone. I and my group went to a restaurant in December at Pune. We paid the double twice accidentally. We asked for a refund from the second payment and the manager told us that it will be credited in about a week or two. It’s been over a month and the money hasn’t been credited yet. Till date, he has given us three numbers to call upon for the status of the refund but everytime we call, the answer is always “It will be credited in 2 days.” The amount was around 6k and I live in Mumbai so it’s kind of difficult to go there personally. Kindly advice me if there’s anything I can do for the same.

You can contact a lawyer and send the restraunt a legal notice regarding the same

If paid using a card, raise a chargeback request. Ensure you add details of both transactions in single request.

Most likely they won’t fight. Even if they want, the restaurant wouldn’t be able to provide 2 different invoices with same price anyway.

Name the restaurant and specify its location. Maybe some good samaritan in its vicinity can enquire in person.
