February 5, 2025 at 9:50 pmSo, I just got married a few days back and we’re applying for our marriage certificate(Hindu marriage act) in Karnataka. We’re hoping to get it before we move back abroad in ten days.Unfortunately, our names in aadhar is just our initials for our last names but the passport has the last names expanded. We would like to get our marriage certificate with our passport name instead of the aadhar name especially to get it recognized abroad.
The agent we’re working with is saying the only option is to apply for a name change in aadhar and then apply for the marriage certificate. I’m worried the timelines won’t exactly work out if we do that. Any advice on how we can move forward now? Thanks a lot for the help!
