March 2, 2025 at 5:01 pmAs the title says, I recently went to the departure area of the T2 airport and I had asked the person who was landing to get off and take the lift to P10 which is the departure area, met them near Burger King, put the bags in boot- just as we were doing that someone claiming to be from the airport authority showed up and said picking up someone from departure is not allowed.I argued that I was there to drop someone off and at the same time, someone else had landed (obviously not true). He showed me some ID but I was not convinced as he didn’t seem to be someone who genuinely worked there nor did the ID mention any details other than his name and the photo. I forgot to click a photo of the same.
They have infact put up a board there saying pick ups at departure are not allowed but I was not able to find any laws or regulations that support this?
Anyone who can guide me on this?

March 10, 2025 at 7:40 amThanks, it still doesn’t resolve my primary question. I’d like to know which laws or any regulations/ guidelines which specify that I cannot pick someone up from the departure area of the airport?

March 2, 2025 at 5:12 pmProbably they will standardize it, this is normal for delhi T3 where one has to reach parking for pickups -

March 2, 2025 at 5:38 pmMost times I have done pickups at departures itself. But if you want to be extra safe, you can ask them to completely exit the station and take the short walk towards the corner at Ambassador hotel.
Alternatively let them take the metro and pickup from any other station of your choice. -

March 2, 2025 at 7:39 pmEarlier taxiwalas used to ask passengers to board the cab from the departure terminal so that they didn’t have to pay airport charges. ( They would still reflect on the final bill hence the passenger would pay the driver and the driver would be profited.)For this reason this rule was made as the airport authority was losing significant revenue.
Same problem in Delhi too. They even started putting a fine on taxiwalas who were caught.

March 10, 2025 at 8:59 amThat’s so sweet! Hope you had a great time with him :).This airport bullshit has pissed me off beyond rationality. I didn’t pay them anything but what a bunch of losers.
