        Please help,2nd hand car purchase

        Hi Experts,

I agreed to purchase a 2nd hand car from an individual – Mr V for 8. lacs. I transferred the full amount in September by taking a personal loan. After a week of transfer Mr V informed that car got damaged by a customer (he rented out the car in Zoomcar) and that he will fix it and give to me. I agreed trusting him. By now he had transferred the car ownership to my name. It had some major issues in engine and the mechanic changed the parts and whatnot. However, even now car is not fixed and not in running condition. Now it’s in another mechanic shop and they are saying clutch has to be replaced. Mr V is now asking me to take care of the repair works while he is out of station. All these months he had been dragging this and now I don’t want to continue with this deal as I lost all faith and also I feel car may have other issues.
I want to know my legal options. Can I involve a lawyer and take legal action? I paid 44k in interest alone and I want to know if I can sue him for 8 lacs + interest I paid.

Not a lawyer, but yes you can if youโ€™ve enough evidence to support your case them maybe you’ll win. But I’d suggest first discuss with Mr. V of your possibilities(if youโ€™ve his address, location and what not to track him and if he’s not a international scammer). Strike when he’s not expecting, or try to settle the situation without exhausting your mind and money dragging law in between

Thanks. Mr V is not an international scammer or something. I have met him and he has a family and is working person. And there is enough evidence. WhatsApp chats, payment etc. The reason I want to take the legal route is to make any further agreement legally binding and see my options.
