January 28, 2025 at 9:03 pmHi, need an advice from you all.On 16th of January while i was at work my roommate called a lady who has been doing her waxing for 2-3 months ( except for this time she didn’t call her through any app) she called her directly.
Once she was done she told my friend to clean up while waiting for her in the room, my friend took approximately 5 mins as she had motions that day.
The waxing lady left the apartment and my friend immediately called me saying that I can’t find any of our rings that were kept in a box on the dressing (ps: my friend is trustworthy)
I came home and we try to find the rings but couldn’t. I called that lady asking if she knows about it ( she clearly said no)
For 3-4 days we were searching for the rings as no one else came to our apartment.
Then on 24th of January my friend saw that the waxing lady has posted a story on social media travelling somewhere, flaunting & wearing one of our rings.
We immediately took screenshots & videos of it and we got sure that she’s the one who stole it.
On the same day we went to police station & presented a file to a policemen with all the necessary proof and written complaint, asking them to file FIR.
They questioned me & my friend that why didn’t you come earlier and we said we didn’t want to trouble the poor lady without any proof that’s why we didn’t and now when we have the proof we immediately came here.
After 2-2.5 hours of here & there they called that waxing lady and told her about her complaint. First she denied that she visited then she said i didn’t steal anything. Police called her to station and she said she’s out of town & she will come back on 1st.
Also, she called & threatened the policeman that will file complaint for calling this late (8:30pm) & said that let me come back i will file complaint against them for harassment ( we didn’t do anything except calling her a theif)
THE POLICE DIDN’T FILE ANY FIR, they just said she will come on 1st. That’s all
Both the rings costed above 1.5Lacs
Me & my friend both have been waiting but we don’t think anything is going to happen.
Please suggest what should we do, haven’t told families yet.
Don’t know what to do.

January 29, 2025 at 1:32 amGo back to the station on 2nd and press them for fir. If they don’t go to their higher ups. Or a different police station. They can’t just deny anyone like this.-

She came back late night and kept it there and in morning i was running late so left that there only. It’s stupid of her that she didn’t keep the valuables inside but, our expensive makeup products are missing too she stole it too we highly doubt

January 29, 2025 at 4:25 amInsist on an FIR. If you indeed have proof, the police will take action. Meet a higher level officer if the junior people are brushing you off.-

January 29, 2025 at 7:10 amDuring our colg fest days some girls found their wallet missing. When we looked at the CCTV footage we found another girl stealing the same and dumping the wallet in the girls wash room.
Armed with her photo that we took through the CCTV camera we submitted the same to the colg security who caught her in campus within a week.
We went to the police station and the girl (theif) said she spulrged the money already.
Police asked my friend Kya aapko ek ladki ki zindagi karab karni hain?
Everyone can guess what happened next.
The money and valuable lost was in the range of 5-25k
File an FIR only if you are ok with:
1. Multiple visits to police station/court.
2. Taunts from police for keeping valuables put in the open.
3. Backlash from people for trying to save some money and booking her outside of the delivery platform. In many cases, these thiefs are hand in glove with the local law enforcement. So nothing really happens to them.
If you have patience or may be some contacts then go ahead and lodge an FIR and also report the person on the booking platform.
Do inform your society and Ban her entry.

January 30, 2025 at 3:59 amIf the police denies filing FIR, you can force them by writing a letter via post. By law they are supposed to file it. -

January 30, 2025 at 11:54 amUnfortunately, the backhanded way is to incentivize his hunt. Seriously, the cops are so hard-pressed when such cases of petty thefts are on the rise. Yet it takes a lot of resource and time when Cops prioritize their hunt to get the rapists, kidnappers and murderers. However, I think the thief can be booked again through the APP with the address as the Police Station.
If she cancels then you have a legitimate complaint against her with the Company. If she comes, then she will get waxed by the Cop. In order to do this, you’ll have to take the cop into confidence by evidencing the proofs.
