UHello all, I have applied for tatkaal passport last month and the police verification was done later after a week successfully. The thing is my company is in another state (Maharashtra) which is different from my permanent residence (Telangana) and I was shifted there in the same month after application of passport, so when applying for passport I haven’t mentioned it (as I have no current residence in and police asked for my company I had said the company name, it’s place. Now yesterday i got an enquiry letter stating I have suppressed documents and i do not reside in my permenant place (home). How should I proceed in enquiry Please help me out.
Also I stay at my friend’s place in MH whenever I visited and don’t have any address proof for the residence, hence reason applied from Telangana and kind of stay half month everytime at my house. Is this enough valid reason for enquiry? What happens after enquiry, please give some advice !!

UYou can show the police verification when asked and try to co-operate as they will burden you if you don’t co-operate and keep all the residence documents and your company being in another state and try to say that I’ve already applied for residence, it’s taking time.

Uthanks for the advice, what do you mean show the police verification? I haven’t been provided any proof after it was done, all I have is call history and the recording probably. Also I have booked enquiry slot near the month end would there be any penalty for enuiry too?

UYou said that your tatkal passport was verified by the police. Keep the recording saved and best would be if you read Maharashtra laws regarding staying licensed,etc which says that
1. Police Verification:
If you apply using your Telangana permanent address, the police verification will be conducted there.
If you apply using a current Maharashtra address, you may need to provide proof of residence in Maharashtra (such as a rent agreement, utility bill, or employer certificate).2. Present vs. Permanent Address:
If you’ve lived in Maharashtra for more than a year, you can use it as your present address, but police verification will be done at both addresses (Maharashtra and Telangana).
If you’ve moved recently, verification will primarily be in Telangana.3. Documents Needed for Verification:
Aadhaar card, Voter ID, or any government ID.
Rent agreement (if applicable) for Maharashtra address.Employer certificate (if working in Maharashtra).
There shouldn’t be any penalty but make sure to visit once because they will think that you’re taking this matter lightly.
And apply for the house as soon as possible so that you can show the docs that you’ve already applied for it.Hope this helps:)
Just make sure to co-operate with them whenever they ask for and explain your situation calmly to them. -

HReply to the enquiry letter and inform them that about your situation truthfully within the timeframe mentioned. What documents does it say you have suppressed? Find out and attach a copy of that document with your reply.
A enquiry does not imply that your passport application is rejected, unless the letter specifically states so.

Do I have to reply anywhere or visit the PSK and do the process again?

HThis means that your police verification was not successful as you were not residing at your permanent address when they came for physical verification.
You will need to reply to Show-cause notice (SCN) and explain to them that the address mentioned is your permanent address and that you have moved to Maharashtra temporarily for employment purpose and do not have a fixed place of residence yet.
Also, read other paragraphs of the SCN carefully and see if they have mentioned what information you have suppressed. If they are asking explanation, it is likely that they would have mentioned what information is suppressed.
