January 12, 2025 at 4:38 amHi everyone,I’m reaching out for advice on a troubling situation with Punjab National Bank (PNB). My parents have a joint account that was primarily used to receive my mother’s pension, which is a modest amount of around ₹50,000 annually. Recently, my mother started teaching students and began collecting fees through UPI transactions in the same account. This FY 24-25, about ₹16 lakhs were collected.
One day, we found out that the account had been frozen. Upon visiting the branch, we were informed that the account was frozen by the bank’s head office due to increased number of credits. They asked us to submit documents, including:
* PAN card
* Aadhaar card
* Latest ITR filingWe provided all the required documents promptly, but it’s been **three months** now, and no action has been taken to unfreeze the account.
This delay has caused significant inconvenience, as my mother relies on this account for her pension and other transactions. We’ve been following up with the branch, but there’s been no progress.
Has anyone faced a similar situation? What can we do to expedite this process? Is there any higher authority or ombudsman we can escalate this to? Any advice would be deeply appreciated.
Thank you!

January 12, 2025 at 6:53 amu/lawyerdel is right. I glanced over OPs post assuming he has exhausted banking redressals.This is the suggested escalation:
1. Visit: [https://www.pnbindia.in/CcsrmsFormComplaint.aspx](https://www.pnbindia.in/CcsrmsFormComplaint.aspx)
* Get complaint number from above form
2. Follow-up Bank manager on email mentioning complaint number
* Resolution within 30 days else next stage
3. Grievance Redressal Mechanism of PNB – Forward Bank Manager emails to Nodal officer
* Details can be found here: [https://www.pnbindia.in/Lodge-Complaint.html](https://www.pnbindia.in/Lodge-Complaint.html)
* Email: [pno@pnb.co.in](mailto:pno@pnb.co.in)
* Wait for another 30 Days
4. If above does not work, then contact RBI Ombudsman

January 14, 2025 at 6:24 amThank you so much sir for detailed answer. I have filled the complaint on CGRMS, upon checking the status, it displays the final remark as “**Kindly attach NCCRP portal report”.**Branch told me that account was freezed by the head office only. There is no cyber crime report. What should I do here ?
