I recently had my phone stolen and know clearly where it was stolen. So my phone got stolen at a metro station and I know the exact location I. The station at which it happened and I know the exact person who pushed me to take my phone. So ok the basis of my information I went to the Delhi metro PS and told them my issue and I ended up finding footage of the person who stole my phone. After the footage was found the police filed a fir and after the investigating officer took my statement he let me know that finding the phone was impossible and the phone is never to be found again. When I brought up the cctv footage he asked me whether I knew the person or his address and if I didn’t know any of it they wouldn’t be able to do anything. I asked him to give me the footage and he refused. Is there anything I can do in this case?

No, police is not bound to give u cctv footages, the only thing u can do if FIR has been lodged , Approach the related court and request court to call for status report on this FIR

NAL. If you had an iPhone it probably has been dismantled and it’s parts have already been sold.

If you already got your duplicate phone number sim, then block your phone’s imei number too, so that it becomes useless for thief.

i also lost my phone, police said just file online DDR and when phone will be turned on, we can track it. no other option.

we knew someone in police and they helped us track the phone but even after the location we coudnt locate it, incidentally found someone else’s phone who has lost a day after our’s.

Record the footage using smartphone camera.
