March 17, 2025 at 7:57 amRecently got married and we don’t have any mutual understanding still we are trying to work it out. We both are working but her salary is half of mine. She has raised this couple of times that she will not be leaving me without taking a lot of money. I would like to protect myself as much as I can, and I am thinking to get some amount transferred from her every month for regular expenses/rent so that I can show in future that she was contributing as well.Is it a good idea to go through this, given I would have to convince her to transfer 15-20k. Please share any other ideas as well, I already have properties with parents and no plan for getting my own soon.

March 17, 2025 at 8:08 amIn india judges give alimony to women making 33 LPA because the husband is earning more. I don’t think there is any way out of alimoney . Although, to save ur property , don’t keep anything on ur name. -

March 17, 2025 at 8:26 amIt’s never a good idea to have your wife transfer money directly to your account, especially if you’re already apprehensive about potential future disputes. However, her contribution to household expenses can certainly help limit any maintenance obligations later. A better approach would be to open a joint account where both of you deposit a proportionate amount for household expenses. This way, if things donβt work out, the court is less likely to deviate from the established financial arrangement. -

March 17, 2025 at 12:42 pmDon’t transfer money to your own account, she can claim that as dowry later on. Avoid buying anything in your own name or if possible anything physical. If you want to invest in countries outside India.
