My new landowner asked me to create the rental agreement for 11 months. I wanted to know what is the price for the rental agreement in Bangalore? I know that registration is not required if tenure is less than 11 months. Is the stamp duty mandatory for 11 months? And what price of Stamp paper should I use?

Go to any notary they’ll do it for 400-500 rs

If you can do everything by yourself it would cost you max 250rs
200rs stamp paper.

If you take some assistance then it would be 500 including stamp paper.

Stamp paper of 1% of total 11 months rent or 500Rs which ever is lower. In the past it used to be 200Rs flat. But soon after Congress came to power in Karnataka, they changed it.

Normally it’s done by landlord. Looks like some cheapo

Ohh what happens if we use 100rs stamp paper? Because in local shops they are still asking for 50rs or 100rs stamp paper ones.

In the future if there are some legal issues and you decide to go to court, then you might have to pay a huge penalty for your case to be accepted as document would not be valid as is

If everything is good between you and your landlord then even tissue paper is fine 😉

😂 So this is what I’ll be doing.
I’ll go to the local xerox, they’ll generate a 500rs eStamp paper. I’ll put the details in it and get printed on it.
I’ll take the signature from my landlord and myself.

That’s it right? Do I need to do anything else like getting stamped from a bank or other organisations?
Witness signatures needed?

Yes. Normally it’s 1 witness from your side and 2nd one from landlord side.
