MWell, unless he is a barber and you want your hair cut by him, he can’t cut your hair.
That being said, the college is a private commercial institution and they can enact rules as long as they are illegal. Asking you to cut your hair isn’t illegal. And they can find ways to stop you from writing exams. Don’t get creative. Don’t like the college? Convince your parents and join a better one.

UDon’t know about any legal advice, but this is a very dumb reason….. Till school it was okay to have a rule for cutting your hair, but in college you do have the freedom of keeping your hair as you want… Baaki jinko ye sab mey knowledge hai woh jaane, mujhe jo kehna tha woh maine keh diya

CWell, I guess your a Male student who has grown his hair till shoulder or beyond with a thick beard.
When I was in college, if we attended the exam (practicals) without a neat haircut and clean shave butter smooth face without moustache it was an automatic fail for us. This along with neatly ironed formal clothes and the formal shoes.
While your professor legally cannot do anything, do you really want to bruise his ego and lose your time by failing a subject? While I understand the amount of maintenance, time and energy you have invested in your hair, you really have to pick your battles wisely

RChoose your battles wisely. Don’t hurt their ego, most of the teachers are the ones who didn’t get to join industry, they feel defeated in their life and students are easy target. they will cause problems. it’s a matter of 1-2 semester.
My happiest day was when I got my convocation and all papers back from institute and university. I never want to go back for any courses in Mumbai University, it operates like a mafia.

DYou should comply if you can. You’ll need the profs or the institute later for recommendations, references, certificates etc in future job or masters applications. They’re connected to industry people. Don’t piss off someone who is otherwise tolerant and helpful. You don’t need to like each other, just stay on cordial terms.
