Property owners forming associations for lands that has no houses

Hi folks, I bought a farm land 2 years ago in Coimbatore, there were no owners associations or anything as such.

Recently a group of old uncles started forcing the promoters to build park and club house etc.

The promoters told them all 100 plots in the site are empty with no houses. Why should I build a club house or park if no one is there, it is a complete loss for me, if there are atleast 2 properties then it makes sense to build one.

They have been repeatedly forcing the promoters to build one, the promoters said he will build in 2
Months time.

But the catch is these uncles are forming an home owner association where there are literally no home and are planning to charge monthly fees, which is fucking insane.

I bought this property for a long term investment (10 years) not planning to build anything. But this is becoming a headache

These uncles are organising zoom meetings and asking all the property owners to join for discussion about this issue. They are asking money for hosting events and meetups and collecting money. Barely 12-15 people in that area attend and most of the owners are not from that city

I haven’t paid anything till now and i am not interested in paying anything to the upcoming association as well.

Please advise, I dont want to pay any maintenance charge for a land which has no income generating capacity, they are forcing me to pay the amount.

Unless they have a knife on your neck and force you to pay money, you don’t even have to think about paying anything to them.

I bought the land from the promoter directly no such thing was mentioned in the agreement, it is not a residential plot, farm land plot, meant for doing farming and having a farm house, the owners are are making home owner association for a farmland plot where there are no houses

As long as you bought the land independently without any joint clause on anything else. They legally can’t ask you to do or pay anything.
