January 20, 2025 at 4:14 amHi,Due to a family dispute, I wish to gift/relinquish my share of the property to my uncle. The property is located in Southern Maharashtra.
Background:
My father passed away 4 years ago. A house was in his and his brother’s name. After his death, a lot of things happened, the house became derelict and had to be demolished.
I had zero interest in that property, so to maintain my peace of mind, I decided to gift/relinquish the property.
As a starting point, I had my father’s name removed from the 7-12 and added my and my mom’s name.
I wanted to ask a few questions as below:
* Which one would be better? Gift deed or relinquishment deed?
* Are both parties needed on the spot for the relinquishment deed as well? (I know that for the gift deed, both the parties should be present). -
