January 10, 2025 at 7:44 pmHey there .. I recently completed my mbbs in 2024
.. I’ve been suffering from ocd and bipolar disorder since last 7 years … The symptoms are very much severe.. so much that I attempted sucide twice … I don’t know why it happened to me … Mainly because of competition and family problems but also can be due to fault in my stars …I’ve been recently admitted (last month) to a psychiatric hospital for 11 days but my symptoms worsened so I did LAMA(leave against medical advice) … Now since I am preparing for neet pg my condition has detoriated further…
I miraculously found out about the disability program for mental health im india (under RPWD act 2016)
It includes 4 mental health conditions and I have 2 of them
I want legal help from you all regarding whether I can avail any benefit if I get this quota for my NEET OG exam … I actually don’t believe in this quotas thing.. but my condition is now unbearable… I want to pursue my medical education but can’t due to this condition but I hope I’ll get better with rtms but it isn’t possible right now … I am the only child of my parents and am not financially well … Male UR
Can I avail any benefit ? Can I be denied my seat due to mental health issues for a md seat during admission timing (on medical grounds since they won’t even accept colour blinded person for surgical branches) …
Is there any hope? Any legal case which supports my condition?
I’ve read RPWD 2016 act thoroughly , along with mental healthcare act(MHA) and also mental disability benefits scheme … It clearly mentions about reservation for higher education…. But I am not sure whether this will apply on medical education since it has very strict guidelines …
I’ve also consulted my psychiatrist… he only told me about this path but he also don’t have clear idea whether it would apply on neetpg or not ..
He calculated that my disability if above 40 percent using IDEAS scale(which is used to define disability in psychiatry under RPWD act) … Mine is 55%
Please someone show me the path…
Please … -
