January 13, 2025 at 9:36 amSo for the past year or so I’ve been mulling over joining a different faith whose philosophy/beliefs reasonate with me better (personally) and I have decided to proceed with it after careful consideration and lots of studyFor the lawyers here: I would like to know if there is any legal declaration/documentation required to change your faith. As far as I know none of my official documents have any religion written on them but I guess it is required for marriage and inheritance. No name change involved. My gender is female if it matters. I will get guidance from the religious center but I wanted some legal guidance as well in case I end up in a sticky spot in the future.
For the not-lawyers here:
1. Not converting to Islam, Christianity or Hinduism so don’t bicker about that2. This is an entirely personal decision with no influence from any romantic partner (I don’t have one)
3. My parents are informed and supportive. My entire household (both sides, multiple generations) are sort of omnists, so I grew up praying at multiple houses of worship
