RI had rented a flat in bengaluru and renewed the lease 3rd time for 11 months consecutively in Oct 24. My landlady passed in January 2025. Now her sister is asking me evacuate it and pay rent to her. I am asking to adjust my rent against the security deposited(rent of 3 months) as I can’t take security from her since I don’t have any contract with her and she has not got ownership of the flat.( says there is a will but the probate of the will take long time)
What should I do to get my security deposit peacefully. I cannot evacuate before 2 months.( clause mentioned in contract as well) -
