AHello all, using a throwaway account to write this.
So I was checking for loans and was checking loan apps. Now I know that is not the best way for getting loans but hear me out
Anyway, this fake app called Finwessy seemed okay. I gave my details but they gave me no offer. But suddenly the app shows that they have approved a loan. And they have generated a fake loan sanction letter!!!
I found out a number and started calling it, a guy picked up and kept saying “i will cancel your loan in 2 days please wait” but so far, no loan has been canceled, it shows active in that app.
I have removed all permissions from that app, but I am still worried. Today the guy told me that they are not able to cancel the loan. When i said that i will lodge a complaint, he said “yes okay, lodge a complaint. But you know how loan agents can be, they will call you threaten you” basically he also gave me a low key threat.
Now, I am worried af, I don’t want them to use my morphed pics. Please advise on next steps and what would be the way out.

N1. If there is any support email ID given then send an email stating you are rejecting a loan, if None then send SMS on their support contact number.
2. Check if such lender is RBI approved, if not nothing much to worry about
3. Register complaint on PGportal or NCH and share all the details of lender

A1. Yes there was a mail id given and i have mailed there stating that I will go to the cops if this is not removed
2. Don’t think so, i was honestly checking eligibility and they suddenly activated it
3. Can you please provide details? Like the path way?
I am not worried about repayment because i have not received any amount and i will not repay, i am just worried about harassment calls and whether they will send morphed photos to my contacts

N1. No need to involve cops since its civil matter, if calls them it would be harassment so cops will be the one.
2. Google state level or District level Bank/lender Obdusman and send an email to them too or add them in cc in the email which you sent for loan cancellation

NI don’t think so, if they do you can say its AI generated and way for register complaint on cybercrime portal
