        Hello, friends.

I am reaching out to this community for help and guidance as I navigate a very difficult and painful situation. I am currently in a toxic and abusive marriage where I am subjected to verbal, physical, emotional, and financial abuse. The situation has become unbearable, and I know I need to leave for my safety and well-being, but I feel trapped and uncertain about my next steps.

I am a dependent, unemployed wife, and my visa status is tied to my spouse, which complicates matters. I have no independent financial resources, and I am scared about losing my legal status in the country if I pursue divorce. I desperately need advice on how to protect myself legally and secure my future while dealing with the following:

        1. **Shelter and Basic Needs**: I need immediate help finding a safe place to stay, as well as resources for food and basic necessities. Are there any organizations or shelters that support women in situations like mine?
        2. **Financial Assistance**: I am unemployed and have no savings. Are there programs or charities that can provide temporary financial aid or help me find work to become self-sufficient?
        3. **Divorce and Legal Guidance**: How can I proceed with divorce without jeopardizing my visa status? Are there legal protections or provisions for individuals in my situation? I am also looking for affordable or pro-bono legal services to help me navigate this.
        4. **Support Networks**: If anyone has been through something similar, I would be so grateful to hear your experiences, advice, or words of encouragement.

I feel very alone and overwhelmed, but I am determined to find a way out. I am turning to this community because I know there are people here who understand and who may be able to help.

Thank you for taking the time to read this. Your advice, resources, or just a kind word would mean the world to me.

What’s your country of residence? Each country has program to support women in domestic violence.
