April 12, 2026 at 11:14 pmHello everyone,I am seeking guidance on the proper administrative and legal steps to dispute a wrongful e-challan issued in Uttar Pradesh (Challan No. UP15759X25XXXXX3104).
Case Details & Factual Discrepancies:
**Procedural Lapse (Lack of Notification):** The alleged offense is dated 15-07-2025. However, no SMS or formal notice was ever delivered to the registered owner’s mobile number. The penalty was only discovered nine months later, on 13-04-2026, during a routine check on the mParivahan portal.
**Invalid Charge (Vehicle Not in Motion):** The photographic evidence attached to the challan clearly depicts the motorcycle parked entirely off-road and completely stationary. The individual sitting on it has their foot resting flat on the ground. Furthermore, the vehicle’s handle is visibly engaged in a right-side lock, proving the engine was off and it was not being operated.
**Unauthorized Usage:** The challan has been issued against a name completely unknown to the vehicle’s owner. The owner was not present and did not authorize anyone to access or sit on the locked property.
Questions for the Community:
1.Has anyone successfully navigated the grievance process in UP to dismiss a challan based on “stationary/parked vehicle” photographic evidence?
2.Given the lack of formal notification (no SMS received), what is the best way to address the 9-month delay in filing the dispute?
3.What is the most effective channel (e.g., e-Challan Grievance Portal, SP Traffic email, or the National Lok Adalat) to present this evidence for a swift and permanent resolution?
I have the official photograph demonstrating the locked handle and stationary status ready to submit to the authorities. Any advice on the most effective procedural route would be highly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and assistance.

April 13, 2026 at 1:03 amDo not pay the fine. Contest it and 100 percent the magistrate will wave off the fine. Put all the evidence collected, make sure the lawyer convinces the magistrate regarding the evidence. Be honest in the court, 9/10 times the judge/magistrate will look at the face of the party to judge their instincts.-

April 13, 2026 at 1:11 amFyi as it has been 9 months, you have to contact the relevant Traffic station or police station when the challans after non payment get court-forwarded to enquire under which court they have sent the challan. Then go to the respective court and file a cmc petition, get a date asap and get done with the hearing. I am sure you will be relieved. Don’t pay your hard earned money to the govt unnecessarily. Better than applying or lodging complaints on official portals.
