Hello, I need legal advice regarding a situation involving harassment and false accusations by a former colleague.

Recently, this person used office resources to call my parents multiple times whose numbers I don’t know how he obtained. I called him to discuss the matter, and during the conversation, he falsely accused me of contacting his relatives and bestfriend and making a 3 a.m. call, which I did make. However, the other accusations were untrue.

To verify his claims, I contacted his cousin who I had called, confirmed that no such request had been made to contact my parents, which contradicted his statement.

This individual knew I was recording the call and that I was feeling frightened during the conversation. His actions—using office resources and making false accusations—seem manipulative and inappropriate.

        My questions are:

Does this situation come under POSH (Prevention of Sexual Harassment) or workplace misconduct based on the use of office resources and false claims?
Do I need to provide any context about our personal relationship to proceed with a complaint?
How should I proceed legally if this continues, and what actions should I take against this kind of misconduct?
I would appreciate any legal advice or guidance on how to handle this situation.

        Thank you!

Even if it doesn’t come under posh, you need to file a complaint as he got your number via your workplace.

But did this start after he quit? If it did, then maybe he didn’t get your number through the workplace and you need to file a police complaint

He is still working there. I am no longer working at this workplace.

Then you need to email HR and let them know. If they don’t revert or ignore it, police complaint. Mention that in your email too.
