        Hello fellow members,

I **(26M, from Bihar)** hope you’re all doing well. I’m reaching out to seek your guidance regarding an issue I’m facing with Samsung India concerning the non-issuance of a proper invoice for a smartphone I purchased in March 2023.

        **Background:**

In March 2023, I purchased a smartphone along with a charger and a phone cover directly from Samsung India’s official online store. At the time of delivery, I don’t recall whether the original invoice was included with the package. It’s possible that I may have misplaced it.

        **Actions Taken:**

        1. **Email Records:** I searched my email for a digital copy of the invoice. To my surprise, I found invoices for the charger and phone cover but not for the smartphone.
        2. **Samsung Account:** I logged into my Samsung Shop account to download the invoice. Again, I could only access invoices for the charger and phone cover; the smartphone invoice was not available. It appears that Samsung generated three separate invoices for the same order.
        3. **Customer Support:** I contacted Samsung’s support team via email, explaining that I couldn’t download the smartphone invoice from my account and provided all relevant order details as proof. In response, they sent me a low-quality JPEG image of the invoice, which is blurry and unsuitable as an official document.
        4. **Request for PDF Invoice:** I requested the original digital invoice in PDF format. However, they denied my request, stating that providing invoices in PDF format is against their company policy.

        **Current Concern:**

While the smartphone is now out of warranty, I plan to sell it in the coming months, for which the original invoice is essential. Additionally, in the unfortunate event of theft, an official invoice is necessary to file a police complaint.

        **Request for Advice:**

Given the circumstances, I would like to understand the legal options available to me:

        1. **Consumer Rights:** Are there specific provisions under Indian consumer protection laws that mandate companies to provide proper invoices to customers?
        2. **Legal Recourse:** What steps can I take to compel Samsung India to provide the necessary invoice? Would approaching the Consumer Forum be advisable in this situation?
        3. **Documentation:** I have all the order proof. I submitted that to Samsung against which they sent me **JPEG** image of invoice**.**

I would greatly appreciate any insights or suggestions from members who have faced similar issues or have expertise in consumer rights and legal proceedings in India.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance.

        Best regards,

If you are able to make out your name, phone imei and other details in this jpeg image, then i don’t know think it would be an issue. An invoice is an invoice, be it jpeg or pdf.

The images r blur if zoomed. Yes but details r visible. Editing the image bit will make it good.
I am frustrated that why they r not sending original pdf version. Neither i am able to download from my account. Even over mail when order was placed back in 2023, i only received digital copy for other 3 product charger and cover, but not phone

If it’s readable, there are AI tools will make it good and then you can convert it to pdf. Why are you wasting your time and energy. Move on with your life.
