April 19, 2025 at 5:39 pmHi everyone, I need some clarity on a property inheritance situation under Hindu succession laws.My father (Hindu) passed away recently without leaving a will. He had purchased a house from his own earnings (self-acquired property). Now we’re planning to sell this house.
Here are the family details:
• I’m the only son.
• My mother is alive.
• My father’s mother (my grandmother) is also alive.
• My father has siblings.Questions:
1. Who all need to sign the sale deed if we want to sell the house now?
2. If my grandmother passes away before we sell the house, will we need my father’s siblings’ signatures to proceed?
3. What happens if my grandmother passes away without a will? Will her share go to all her children (including my father’s siblings), or just to me?Any help or guidance would be much appreciated!
