Serving notice period out of India?

I moved abroad while working remotely for India as it was too risky to leave job being a new immigrant. Now I want to get released from current role but have company assets with me and company is asking me to come back to India to serve notice period.

Ask them to book your flight tickets and accommodation for you to serve the notice period. And also return tickets as well if they are so much concerned about serving notice period.

You are obligated to return the company asset.

Else they will deduct it from your fnf.

You are obligated to serve notice period.

But does it have to be from India or could be remote depends on your employment agreement and company policy.
