February 26, 2025 at 7:02 amSo i have a Desktop, Monitor and a pair of speakers with some wires, which i had to ship from Punjab to Banglore as i was moving to that city. The guy fully packed it with everything he can and i told him to pack it in a way that package may sustain a jerk here and there. I didn’t had enough money to send it by Air so i send it through Road. The Package arrives at the place in Banglore 2 days late than expected. But guess what, motherboard had little damange and graphics card was no functioning anymore. FYI- i Paid something arround 3500 for the shipment and repairing the motherboard costed me arround 2000 and graphics card was worth 51000 rs. They took no authority of the damage.
Now after few months i had to send it back to punjab. This time i did some digging to find a good company for shipping and paid extra to send it by air, cause he said the package would be much safe with that. And he packed it with all the bubblewrap and all. He told me that there is no benefit of insurance as it covers Port to Port only and most of the times you don’t get it. I beleived in him and let it go. This time it costed me arround 6000 or something to send it.
Package arrives on time at home. But fg guess what. My speakers were completely broken like shattered to pieces. My Screen had a dent on back and from front its not fg working anymore. This time i removed my graphics card from cpu and sent it separately. And till the time my family member doesn’t take to a computer shop to put it back again i dont have a freakin clue if even CPU is working or not.
So the point is…..FK YOU TRANSPORTATION SERVICE OF INDIA A BIGGG FK YOU.
I am just so frustrated right now, if anyone has any solution please let me know.

I booked 2nd AC, didn’t sleep a night before and slept through the whole journey.I did this because one of my friends sent his PC through DTDC and MB was broken. February 26, 2025 at 8:01 amBro desktops are not meant to transport Every now and then.First remove all the parts like graphics card, disks so that your board and cable sockets won’t damage.
Then after, you need a hard casing something like the big events will have its own hard case to protect, use something like that then only your devices will be safe.
Bubble rap will work for within city limits not like some 1000 kms.
Next time pack it in those hard box cases, normally alluminium cases.

February 26, 2025 at 8:25 amIf it is a national level carrier then you could have paid extra and gotten some damage insurance.Always take pictures of the things being transported just before packing and make sure that you add absorbent materials like styrofoam or paper to improve the chances of survival.
Legally speaking, (Lawyer here)

February 26, 2025 at 8:39 amwhich service did you use with Air shipping,I have used the premium Blue-dart smart box service (twice, for laptop and monitor) that costs around 5-6K and its the best in terms of safety, although they don’t give any assurance but that is packed with cardboard shock absorbers and they themselves recommend buying a bag and cheap stiff foam to stuff the things in it for added protection.

They then don’t deliver timely and most of the times ends up missing packages, which actually, are stolen. Delicate electronic items by default cannot be transported in generic transport. Also, it’s interesting that you faced all this issue while sending from Punjab to Bengaluru and decided to do it again on the way back? Did it not occur to you to carry at least the most expensive parts in your carry on luggage?

February 26, 2025 at 12:10 pm1. Remove all components like gpu, ram, hdd from the cabinet before shipping. Even slight jerking while they are slotted in will damage the connectors on the motherboard.2. You need to keep the original boxes for computer components. Those come with thermocol or similar fillers which have cutouts in the shape of the product. That is how your items don’t get damaged when they are shipped to you when you first purchae them online.

February 26, 2025 at 9:47 pmMate! I truly empathize with your situation, but as others have mentioned, never ship the entire PC in one go, as it increases the risk of damage. I’ve moved a couple of times myself, and here are some things I can share for others and your future moving plans:Disassemble the PC. If you do not have the expertise to do this, get in touch with a technician to get it done. Pack everything yourself with adequate bubble wrap.
Things to note: bring the GPU with you, as it’s relatively small and easy to carry. I would suggest the same for the CPU.
I understand the monitor is heavy, but I believe it’s the most critical component to take extra care with. I always keep the original packaging of the monitor and other critical components to ensure things like this don’t happen.
Try opting for a delhivary, I’ve used them multiple times, even once when I accidentally left my AirPods in another city. One of my friend shipped them to me, and the package I received was handled with utmost care. To note, packaging is the most important part when shipping.
I hope this helps you and others. Cheers!

February 26, 2025 at 10:28 pmI have transported my entire PC case intact with all peripherals still inside and connected when I was shifting from Mumbai to Delhi for 8-9 months.I placed bubblewtap in empty spaces inside my case.
Next and most important thing: I drove from Mumbai to Delhi and packed my car’s boot in such a way that the case was surrounded in all 6 sides, only by soft and squiigy goods, like clothes, chips ka packet(cheap and overlooked packing material).
Despite some unexpected speedbreakers and intermittent bas roads. I just plugged my PC in upon reaching delhi without any hassle.
I even transported crockery without damaging a single piece.
Same thing upon return.

Shipping companies ship things. If they have to handle your packages as if they were a newborn baby, it wouldn’t get to you in a year.
Take it as an expensive lesson and always bubble wrap individual parts and then ship them and assemble them.

This is very common and expected unless you packed your desktop properly for courier in boxes, packaging bubbles, anti static bags, etc. When you’re not seeing these guys are slamming and throwing packages around.I went through something similar and usuay in their T&C they’re pretty much covered or limit their liability unless you follow procedures to the letter with proper packaging, disclosing the contents and value, getting the adequate shipping method and/or insurance.
