        Hi
Two years back there was on OTP fraud on my BNPL Get Simpl account of amount Rs 21000. I immediately tried to block the transaction or report but there was no immediate cancel option. Much later the team responded on Mail and discussed via call and mail and also complained on Cyber Crime Portal. At last Simpl sent a mail that I have to pay the money which i responded to that I will not pay. After 2 years Simpl have suddenly started sending me legal notices for recovery.

I have never used the fraud money. I am from Hyderabad but the purchases were on Blinkit and Fasttag from Kolkata. Simpl team kept passing me around with their help executives on call again and again asking if it was any of my friend who might have done the shopping even after i repeatedly told that this was a fraud transction. I paid back my genuine purchases except the fraud amounts. There is no mechanism on their app to prevent any fraud transactions immediately. I never asked for the limit of Rs 21000 as well. They kept on increasing even though my monthly purchases were hardly 2-3K

Please help!! I am just a common middle class man who just fell for a wrong prompt on a bad day.

Don’t worry same happened with me as well. It’s a handiwork of their internal staff. The worst is even after reporting and providing all necessary information and proof they denied of taking any responsibility and reversing the fraud transactions. They are not registered with RBI, neither as a bank or an NBFC so technically they cannot take any legal action as this is a data breach from their end

Yes, so far there is no impact on Credit Score as such. My concern is if they will send someone to my place. My parents stay there.
I have avoided using any apps like Zomato, Swiggy from last two years. I have even kept the number switched off..

First the legal notice came to one of my previous company ( must have got the address from Zomato, as I frequently ordered there), then the notice was sent to my permanent address. So I am concerned if someone will come there sent by Simpl.

I hope I can permanently resolve this and live peacefully.Β
