Somene opened a credit card under my maa’s name

I went through her mails last night and saw a series of email from SBI Card . The timeline goes like :- An application was filled under her name on January, then digilocker access was given , followed by an e sign and issuance of a credit card.

I wasnt in the city back then and I dunno if someone fooled my innocent ma as she blindly trusts anyone who talks to her sweetly.

Then that person changed the registered mobile no. , Credit card PIN and even various passwords.

Now, i am unable to figure out even some tiny details of that goddamn card [ Card no. , CVV, Registered mobile no. , like anything ].

I see that guy has been transacting under her name and is so cunning that he left no traces behind. I called their helpdesk and all they are asking is registered mobile no which i dont have in the first place as that guy changed it somehow.

Please guide me , what should i do?

Also, the name mentioned on the email goes like Ms AA… …… and my mumma’s name is Mrs. A… …….

Are we safe? I am scared

Visit the banking person.

Submit the complaint with all necessary documents. Take acknowledgement on a copy with bank stamp.

Speak to the manager. Tell him you will lodge a police complaint and also with bank’s ombudsman within 24 hours. And do it.

Impersonation is either an inside job as banks are very cautious with credit cards.

But she dont have an SBI acc. I wonder how it was issued. She never took an EMI before , neither she has a savings or FD acc with credit lending platform

Make a complaint to the police. Also with RBI and bank’s ombudsman.

Doing it in writing is must.

Check the applicant name first from hour other comments it seems like aunty has no credit score at all, sbi wont really issue cards without credit score or fd, could be wrong email address. But send a mail from your mail since it is regestered and visit nearby branch and also keep her mail in your mobile.

I visited nearby branch and there is no Credit Card issued from maa’s PAN card it seems.

I got emails about loans being opened on my name and there were 7 different loans. Did some digging and found that our email id were matching 99% with difference of 1 character. I atleast got the name of the company in the loan application and called them directly asking them to correct the information. Hope it’s the same with you.

However for precaution, report it to the police and then reach out to the bank.
