April 13, 2025 at 7:25 amRecently I recieved a message from someone on LinkedIn asking if I am selling any property.
I said no and asked why he is asking me that.He then informed me that someone had created an OLX ad with my name & my photo. Since the asking price of the said property was too low, he decided to verify it by searching me on LinkedIn and that’s the reason he messaged me.
I asked him for the OLX ad link or any screenshot but he is saying that the listing is no longer showing up.
I myself tried my best to search it on OLX but couldn’t find it as well. I have now deleted all my photos from social media.
I tried to make a complaint on the cybercrime portal but I couldn’t as it is asking for proof which I don’t have except this third person’s messages with me. I also reached out to OLX support but they also said that they can’t do anything if I don’t have the ad link or profile link of the impersonator.
Can anyone please guide me in proper way? I work at a big 4 and already going through a lot, now this unnecessary tension is killing me mentally.

OP
April 13, 2025 at 7:29 amMore context: it does seem like someone is intentionally trying to defame me or trap me in legal issues. As far as I know that there is no requirement to mandatorily upload profile photo or even full name on olx but this scamster intentionally created that fake profile using my name & photo. -
