April 1, 2025 at 1:20 amI have 7 yrs of experience. I joined Citi project in the month of January. It’s just been three months with this account. I have no deliverables to give. They asked me to complete external certification ISTQB as mandatory in TCS Citi project.I have dropped my resignation bcz of other personal issues.Though my manager and HR is asking me to complete this certification and not accepting my resignation.Saying that this is part of project deliverables and TCS policy I should abide by. Threatening that they’ll write I’m unfit to work in BG if I don’t take the exam or if I don’t pass the exam.Pls help me with this anyone! -

April 1, 2025 at 1:46 amThere is no way anyone can stop you from leaving if you do a formal resignation. Your appointment letter will tell you the terms of leaving the organization and be clear in your email that you are resigning as on that date and last day will be this date (as per your appointment letter ). Also state that you have zero deliverable assigned to you. Copy your manager, his manager and HR.If you are resigning then you have zero obligations to go for any more certifications.

April 1, 2025 at 8:13 amBut my resignation is not even accepted so if I’m taking up this exam they’ll next say that we offered you to take this exam so you can work for us, so your resignation is declined. What to do then-

April 2, 2025 at 12:13 amNo one has to accept your resignation. When you email you are done and it has to be as per the appointment letter. If it says 3 months then its 3 months. Just tell them (via email) that you do not want to continue working with them as you have already resigned and this date will be your last date. They can’t do sh*t after that. Tell them to email that they are not accepting your resignation and see them jump.

April 1, 2025 at 2:17 amIf the certification can help you in your job search and can be finished within the Notice period, may not be a bad idea to get the certification. -

April 1, 2025 at 4:53 amYou have to follow notice period and if in that the certification is required, you would need to do it. -

April 1, 2025 at 5:18 amWhat’s the problem ? Company is paying you to do a certification during your notice period . Apparently it is paid for . And this will help you in your future job searches .-

April 1, 2025 at 8:08 amI have dropped my resignation because of personal issues but they are not accepting my resignation and asking me to do the certification. I’m not going to be in testing in future. I want to switch my career to devops. ISTQB certification is not a mandatory thing or does value to the next role I’m trying for right.-
